Our New Year's Eve supper club went off without a hitch! Everyone arrived in black tie (or very close to it) and lovely dresses. The food was fantastic and we were in bed shortly after 1am.

I did note to several of my friends, however, that we must be getting old and lame. Almost everyone was mixing in a glass of water for every alcholic beverage consumed. I can't say I was innocent, either. I just can't handle waking up with the kids when I feel like I've been run over by a truck!

Decorating for the party was fun. It's kind of hard to do New Year's without having it be a little tacky. I used mostly party hats and beads. The chandelier was so fun to drape with silver beads. BabyGirl is adamant that it is much more beautiful now and we have to keep it that way! I wish I had more pictures...I have to thank Katie from LUTB for taking some of the photos!

The flowers on the mantle were my favorite...we're talking five minute, $11 arrangements. Not bad!

Unfortunately, my pics were taken the morning after so you don't really get the full affect of the lighting in the evening. Enjoy!

I think the beads look great on the chandelier.

New Years is quite a challenge when it comes to decorating! We had company on New Year's Day, and I ended up using some hats as well...they really don't make too many subtle decorations!

So elegant! Congrats on throwing a lovely fete AND managing to convince everyone show up in actual black tie.
