When in Doubt, Shroud the Sprout

I watched the Oxygen show "Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" for the first time last night. I thought it was cute! I have long believed that Tori Spelling is probably very misunderstood and has been terribly misrepresented in the press. I grew up (partly) with a mother very similar to hers (money is the key to happiness...the bigger the better...fulfilling her OWN childhood dreams vicariously through me...you get the drift) so I understand where she's coming from on that front.

Last night's episode had her doing her book tour while seven months pregnant. She's overtired, overstressed, and worried about planning a birthday party for her one year old. Sound familiar? All the while, she's hormonal and goes off on her sweet hubby for "neglecting" her when she returns home from her trip to NYC. He actually offered her "buttered noodles" that were still sitting on the stove from his earlier meal. C'mon, Dean. Really? She's schlepped across the country to promote her book in order to bring home the proverbial family bacon and all you can offer her upon her return is buttered noodles? Dr. Daddy's no Bobby Flay, but I can guarandamnedtee you that he'd be offering something more than THAT. Other than that minor incident, however, Dean does seem like quite the mensch.

My favorite part of the episode had to be when Dean was cooking dinner for master Liam. He described the returning of the hot dog to the plastic bag so that it could be saved for later. Something about putting the wiener into the bag now, but in the future he should be aware of putting the bag over the wiener. "When in doubt, shroud the sprout." It's too good.

You can check out the show on the Oxygen Network. And I'm definitely planning to read her book, sTORI Telling.

I was never a big Tori Spelling fan, but I read sTori Telling just for fun and LOVED it! She's really funny and has great stories about growing up rich and famous. I also started watching her show and love that, too.

I love that show too. Totally my guilty pleasure. I agree that the press has probably not been terribly fair to her. I find her to be rather funny and frankly I'm hard to impress. LOL

I also watched this show for the first time last night and I am hooked! Looks like my Tivo is going to stay busy. I thought it was pretty funny when Dean was talking to Liam about wrapping it up!

I was watching the "25iest Power Couples" hosted by Tori and Dean this weekend and I totally feel like she is misunderstood! I mean, she is making her OWN money now, too! Candy cut her off! TERRIBLE!

I have been watching this show too and love it. Tori and Dean seem like such a sweet couple. Let us know when you read her book. I want to read it, but I have so many books on my to-read list.

Enjoy your week!

LOVE the show, I've been watching them since Inn Love. I too think she has been misunderstood.

How about the scuba diving episode, where Tori & Dean are in bed about to go to sleep and Dean has some *ahem* digestive issues? And then he said it smelled like potato chips? Uh, Dean, c'mon, you guys are practically still honeymooners - let's keep some mystery. Lol.

Anyway, that cracked me up. Also, I'm reading the book and it's good. Tori is extremely honest and I admire that about her. She just tells it like it is.

I found your blog by way of Some Like it Southern........I love this show too! The book is great. I didn't want to spend the $$ on it, so I checked it out at the library. Great reading!

I was surprised at how her Mom behaves, still. You can tell she is deeply hurt and affected by the whole thing. The birthday party was adorable!
