Leaving on a Jet Plane

Okay, anonymous. Now you've done gone and pissed me off. My reference to not "keeping up with the Joneses" in a recent comment on one of my own posts was related to the fact that bloggers don't compare themselves to one another. We're out here to have fun, to share fun information and sometimes, to vent. We're not about bragging or showing off.
I don't think that my husband, whether he's a doctor or a plumber, and I going on a vacation celebrating his 50th birthday is extravagant. I most certainly don't feel the need to justify that. We're not going to Kiawah, or Nantucket, or Europe or any other uber fancy place. That's not who we are. We're going to an ALL INCLUSIVE resort just north of Cancun. Check it out on Expedia...it's pretty reasonable. We're using our frequent flyer miles to get there.
We're not keeping up with anyone...just trying to get away on a nice vacation and take a break from working our arses off all the time. We EARNED it. It's PAID for. We won't be irresponsibly putting things on credit that we can't afford.
So, Anonymous, if you really want to let your voice be heard, why not make yourself known?
Oh, and by the way...jealousy doesn't become you.

XOXO

I think you should just ignore "anonymous." I mean really - anonymous is probably just jealous and doesn't have anything better to do. Don't feed attention to the negative people. Love the blog though!

Oh my... I have yet to get a negative comment. Why do people have to be mean?

Oh my... my Dad is an Orthopedic Surgeon. Growing up alot of people had the wrong idea. No need to be mean. I am truly sorry.

Seems like this anonymous loves to stay that way. Kind of like a barking dog behind the fence ...

They aren't so vicious once they are standing in front of you!

Have a great trip and enjoy every single paid for, earned it, celebratory moment.

And may anonymous stay that way and get a real job! ...

Hi,

I've been reading your blog for a while, and I LOVE it! You seem so fun and so funny, and after reading this post, I just wanted to say, "You go girl!" I have yet to understand how some people can say such caddy things on blogs, but then again not everyone is kind or has class. So, I for one hope you have a great time on your upcoming vacation!

I cannot believe someone is upset you are going on vacation! Unlike many in this country you are responsible and have it all paid for. You deserve to enjoy you hard earned dollars and you do not need to justify anything!

Sippycups - I hope you enjoy your vacation!! I am an avid reader of your blog (so funny!!). Don't let those green with envy take away from your vacation. With two kids, I'm sure it is much deserved!

I've noticed rude comments from an Anonymous on several different blogs. Not surprinsingly they were on blogs that recently posted about the election and lean towards the same end of the political spectrum. Anyway, I'm sure this person is just jealous of your wonderful trip-I know I am :) Have fun!

I think its great that you can go on a mini vacation and afford it. I hate the fact that ONE spineless commenter makes us feel like we have to justify ourselves. I do the same thing on my blog and it pisses me off.

Keep up the great post......and have a great vacation!!

Hmmm, I must read down and find the comment. Very intriquing. It wasn't me though...swear.

Sippycups,

I do not think you owe it to anyone to explain yourself and your plans for your husband's 50th.

I am sorry that people some people can not accept that other people can think differently without being judgemental. It sucks.

(I am a republican who can not STAND our VP nominee... but I am not going to judge anyone who likes her. And with that I am open to all comments and criticism about both parties.)

I love your blog and have been following regularly for over a year now.

Keep up the good work! Keep entertaining, informing and venting... we love it!

And have fun on your Jet Plane!

You go, girl. And have a great time! I have had the misfortune of receiving one nasty comment by yet another "anonymous". It took me a half an hour to figure out how to delete the comment. I would NEVER leave a nasty comment on a blog...but leaving it without your name is just WRONG! How wimpy and lame. I have had family members make bad comments about my posts. I'm like, "hey, feel free to make your OWN blog and write bad about me". It's my blog and I can write what I want. Nana boo boo! No need to justify. I can't wait to do your mashed potato idea on Nov. 1st. When and if you have a free second can you help me figure out how much to make for 14 people?

Right on. The nerve of some people!

I am so confused why you should justify yourself to some jealous "commenter".

Y'all deserve to have a fabulous vacation. Whether it be St.Tropez or South Padre, Texas.

I have been reading you for awhile and have never commented. BUT I have never thought of you as bragging at all.

Your husband is a doctor. That is a lot of school. A lot of hours on call. A lot of pressure.

He does deserve a week off with his wife in the fanciest place y'all can afford.

Tell anonymous to kiss your ass!!!

I love Dave Ramsey, he has a lot of wisdom! My husband and I are trying to do the envelope system that he suggest. Some months are harder than others, but so worth it. We hope that this will help our children learn about saving and not spending your money on wasteful items.
As far as the unkind person leaving rude remarks, just ignore them. I love your blog, it makes me laugh. Hope you and your husband have a restful and fun time on your vacation.
God Bless, Kara S.-Texas

I say if you want to celebrate Dr. hubby's 50th birthday in Europe, on a cruise ship, on every fantastic island you can find or in a motor home in Iowa then good for you!!

Life is meant to be celebrated. And you are free to choose any kind of celebration you want . . . without need to explain or justify it to anyone!

Enjoy.

I can't believe someone would have the nerve to even leave a ridiculous comment about that. I enjoy reading your blog! I am a stay at home gal myself and although I do now have children, I keep myself busy with crafty projects just the same. Kudos to your creativity and adorable ideas!
