Am I lovin' it too much?

You know the McDonald's commercials with the little "I'm lovin' it" jingle? I'm wondering if my kids and I are lovin' it too much. Dr. Daddy almost never eats fast food. The kids and I, on the other hand, are frequent flyers. McDonald's, Wendy's, sometimes Burger King, DEFINITELY Chick fil' A (one of my girlfriends insists that the Chick is NOT truly fast food!). I'm wondering how often ya'll indulge in a little fried happiness...
So, I've offered a little poll and I'd love for you to get out the vote.
Also, thanks so much for the GREAT ideas for my alliance meetings....KEEP EM' COMIN! I might even offer up a little prize for the reader with the most and best ideas. Hmmm, I'm thinking some gift cards to McDonald's???

I agree with your friend, chic fil a doesn't count as fast food (or at least that is what I tell myself).

My little boy loves chicken mcnuggets - and of course the toy that comes with them! We try to only go there when we are traveling on the road, so maybe once a month.

Funny you mention it...we visited the Chick yesterday. It was a Spring Break treat, big of me, huh? I was impressed with their Purell wipes and plastic placemats in the kid's meal.

Between baseball practice and Daddy providing dinner on nights when I work late, those poor babies eat out a LOT! Paintboy is moving up to taking them to "sit down" restaurants latley though. I think he gets tired of french fries.

I agree - chic fil a is not fast food.

Fast food is not a favorite of mine ... but real life does sometimes demand it! And the Big Chick is not fast food! But sometimes we have to step on the wild side and eat at McDonalds and even on a rare occasion - Taco Bell! But ... with the way my kids sing the "I'm loving it" song you would think we are there for three meals a day!

I'm not a fast food fan in general, but I do like Subway and about once a year I will have some Taco Bell (usually to fend off a hangover which happens a lot less as I get older;)

Here in Northern CA, eating at fast food restaurants is about as well regarded as taking your child to a crack house. But, despite the disaproving looks I get from mothers here, I do take my children to fast food restaurants--regularly. Why? Because I think it is an opportunity for educating my children about nutrition, teaching moderation, and equiping them with the knowledge, skills, and *experience* to make good choices when they are older and free to do what they please. So, we go to McDonalds and talk about which foods are "green light foods" (ones we can as much as want of) and "red light foods" (ones we can have just a little bit of). Sometimes they choose apple slices and salad and sometimes they choose mcnuggets and french fries. And, I do the same. I also talk about the store's convenience with them and what our (poor) choices are when I haven't packed any lunch/snacks when running errands or running late. Although I am sure some parents will think that I am opening an unacceptable pandoras box, I see it as a great opportunity to provide guidance within a culture that really is a fast food nation (ahem, the box is already open). So, I'm Lovin' It Too and proudly.

Your friend is correct! The Chic is most definately not fast food:) In fact it is one of the major food groups. I swear my son would starve if it wasn't for a weekly visit to chic. Have you tried their milkshakes? YUMO!

I hate McDonald's, but Chick Fil A is another story. We eat there about once a week!

When my husband is travelling, and we are coming back from some lesson/class or another, I will sometimes suggest 'Yellow M' as my youngest calls it. My oldest child REFUSES! She has a goal for the year not to even step foot in Mc D's! She will eat Chik-Fil-A, though, which means that she does not consider it fast food. Good thing!

Oh man, I do love some McDonalds. I do limit myself to once a week though. I don't think Chic fil a is fast food though....the line takes forever!
