Text me...

A friend of mine asked her three kids what their New Year's Resolutions would be this year. Her 14 year old daughter said "to text more", which I thought was hilarious.
Hilarious, that is, until I got my latest Verizon bill. With $50 dollars worth up up charges for texting. It's funny...I thought that the premium texting charge meant you could text your little heart out and not get charged extra. Silly me. 776texts later, and I'll be storming the Verizon store this morning to change my account! A special thanks to all my friends with i phones.

Of course, being 33 and texting makes me feel very cool for some reason. Young and hip and all that...
Alas, I am young and hip no longer. Yesterday I traded my Volvo station wagon in for a Toyota Sienna minivan. I was leaning toward a Suburban. I just really wanted more space for the kids to spread out and quit touching each other in the car! Well, my friend insisted that I atleast test drive the Sienna Limited that had been sitting at our local dealer for a while. It's got all the bells and whistles...more than I need really. I have to say, after one afternoon I was pretty convinced. By the end of a very SILENT carpool with three five year olds watching the DVD player and not pissing and moaning all the way home I was officially hooked. I am loving that car! Yet another thing I said I would never do and here I am...pimpin around town in the mini. Gotta love it.

Have a great weekend!

OMGosh I got a bill from sprint yesterday with 652 extra texts on it! I actually called and told them I wasn't 12 years old! They took care of it... but I did actually send that many which is worrisome in itself! Also... shopping for a minivan this year... terrified.

Welcome to the mom driving minivans society. They are an evil necessity that I am thankful for every time we shove our 3 children in to my husband's Volvo SUV.

Glad to hear you are doing well. Love the minivan! It's better to have happy kids in the end....and I kinda like it!

I always said I'd never drive a minivan until I drove one. I love my Honda Odyssey. With 5 children, it is necessary. We rented a Suburban for 2 weeks at Christmas and I HATED it. It was so laborious to get the children in and out of the car. In fact, I am planning a post about it on my blog! Long live the sexy minivan mamas!!!

I've got to say, as un-sexy a car as the Sienna is, I LOVE it and I only have one daughter!

We have the Honda Odyssey and I LOVE it! DVDs save a mom's sanity. When we first bought it, my husband was having second thoughts and was questioning whether or not we should have gotten that model. Then, when we picked up the boys from their grandparents' house and turned that sucker on, he said with a smile, "Buyers Remorse gone!"

I'm in the same boat with the van...not ready for it AT ALL! But I think its inevitable. I hear they are great ONCE you break down and get it. I just hope I feel the same way when it happens!

I really like it! How my parents ever raised 8 (EIGHT! 6 boys, 2 girls!) kids and only had a big station wagon I'll never know! We did have one with the way back seats that folded up - we were all crammed in there, though!

Kids sure do travel in style these days!

And don't forget you'll be hauling your photo equipment as your business progresses!

I am just SO GLAD you are back with the towheads!

Happy Happy Week to all!

I am a longtime "lurker" -- a reader, but have never had a blog of my own. I have enjoyed your "tips" especially the home decorating ones!! Many, many, many of your posts have been printed out and added to my "how to" binder for fun things to do when I have a home of my own!!
I just wanted to invite you over to read my story: http://howimetyourfatherblog.blogspot.com/

I knew my older sister (who has 3 kids) was a lost cause when she described her Toyota Sienna as "cool as hell."
