I got my new camera this week! I ended up getting the Nikon D40. I'm very happy with it so far. Of course, I haven't read the directions yet...just started snapping away. Here are a few of my practice shots...

They look GREAT! You ought to join Clickin Moms or go to the Mamarazzi blog for some helpful tips on your new camera (not that you need them---these look really great!) I just love those sites and learna lot there.
Just stumbled onto your blog and you sound just like me! My lovely husband & son bought me a Nikon D40for Mother's Day and I have yet to really learn how to use it, but the pictures are so amazing just from the manual setting!
